Windows 7 Service Pack 1 RC officially released Posted: 27 Oct 2010 04:30 AM PDT Microsoft has recently released Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) RC for public testing, not long after the same build was released to the internet via peer to peer sharing programs and torrent sites. Service packs are always provided free of charge and if you are having a genuine copy of Windows, you should be able to install this build onto your PC. The pack provides several improvements and enhancements to Windows 7 and a handy incremental updates to the Windows platform. The SP1 (download link at the bottom) weighs in at 514.7MB for the 32-bit version and 865.4MB for the 64-bit version.
