Disable Windows autorun partially or completely with Disable Autorun Posted: 17 Nov 2010 02:22 AM PST One way of how a malicious program gets into our USB drive is through the autorun feature in Windows. Most of the time this is a convenient feature but there are times when we need to turn it off. Disable Autorun is a small standalone freeware (you don't need to install it) that allows Windows user to partially or completely turn off the autorun feature. So no more autorun on removable drives, network drives, card readers or virtually anything that is capable of autorun-itself. |
Android 2.2 (Froyo) now available for Dell Streak Posted: 17 Nov 2010 01:27 AM PST One of many requests after Dell Streak was launched back in May 2010 was the Android 2.2 upgrade and it is now finally fulfilled. The Over-the-Air (OTA) upgrade commenced on the unlocked units which largely resided in the Europe. This group of units will receive earlier than the rest because it doesn't require any carrier approval. The region-by-region upgrade will take place throughout this week. Given the fact that Dell Streak is one of the last device using the old Android 1.6 or also known as Eclair, there would be major improvements that could be seen. So here is a short list of improvements.
You can follow through the detail step-by-step upgrade provided at the supporting page of Dell site over here |

How to create a Partition in Windows 7 Posted: 16 Nov 2010 08:42 AM PST Creating partition in Windows XP is not really convenient because you need to use third party software. Microsoft learned from Windows users feedback that having a built in partition tool is essential and they had implemented this feature on Windows Vista. Like its predecessor, Windows 7 has its own built-in tool to allow users to create a drive partition. The partition process is pretty easy but for some people who are not familiar with PC, they might feel the pain in their neck. Here's the step by step on how to do that. 1. Right click on My Computer and select "Manage" 2. "Computer Management" window will popup. Select storage > disk management from the left pane. 3. Select the drive you want to perform partition. In this tutorial, I choose drive D. 4. Right click on the drive you intend to perform partition and select "Shrink volume..." 5. A window will popup showing you the size of hard drive and the total amount space available for shrinking. 6. If you refer to the following screenshot you will notice, the light green section is the amount your specified for creating new partition. (Note: don't worry about small discrepancy between the amount specified in the previous step and the one you see here) 7. Right click on the green section and select "New Simple Volume...". 8. At this stage, you just need to follow through the wizard. It asks you few more information regarding your new partition. Everything is pretty much done, so you don't have to key in any value. Just click the next button on every screen (refer the 3 consecutive screenshots below). 9. Click finish and you are done! |
