FREE Norton Online Family for monitoring kids

With online activities become mundane to parents as well as kids in today's world, Symantec's approach to parental control makes perfect sense. Norton Online Family is a web-based console where parent can manage the configuration through the website with a small agent on each computer is doing its work enforcing the house rules.

The best thing about Norton Online Family is there is no charge for the service but with unobtrusive ads on the side of the page after you logged in. Symantec's philosophy that no family should forgo online protection because of economic reasons really impressed me.

There is no installation that need to be through because all reports and settings are available through a Web based interface, so parents can monitor while they are on another computer or at work. Download Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate (RC) for Windows 7

The significant change in Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) is the addition of Tracking Protection. This new feature allows users to be able to identify and block many forms of undesired tracking such as cookies, advertisements, web beacons and trackers. Basically this feature works by letting users to be able to create sites list that are protected from being tracked by other sites via cookies and any other means. Another security enhancement introduced by Microsoft is the ability to block ActiveX controls where it includes an "ActiveX filter" option. The filter is pretty much basic (just on or off) and it does not allow for a per-site setting.

According to Microsoft, the Internet Explorer 9 Beta has been downloaded more than 20 million times, making it the most downloaded beta release of Internet Explorer ever. The final version of Internet Explorer 9 is expected to be unveiled by Microsoft at MIX 11 in April.

Flash Player 10.2 is available for download

The final version of Flash Player 10.2 was released today by Adobe and it contains some new features and several bug fixes. This latest Flash Player supports full screen mode on multiple monitors which means you can do your work on one screen while watching a video in full screen on another display.

Flash Player 10.2 also introduces 1 major enhancement which is the support for Stage Video. Stage Video allows a playback of HD video but using less CPU resources. Google is already working around the clock to support Stage Video playbacks on YouTube.com. When it is done you can watch 1080p videos without affecting your PC performance.
