How to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) via Windows Update

Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) is available to the public a couple days ago. You can either update your Windows 7 through direct download or you can update through Windows Update.

To update via Windows Update you can easily type in "Windows Update" in the search box in the start menu and hit enter. In many cases you don't have to do that because Windows Update will check on regular basis if there is new update that needs to be installed on your Windows. I've to do that because I turn off the Windows Update.

Click "Check for updates" on the left sidebar and it will check for any updates. Windows 7 SP1 might not come up if there are a lot of small updates that you haven't installed. If that's the case, you need to make sure to install them first. After installing them, restart your PC and check Windows Update again for Windows 7 SP1 and this time around it should come up in the list.

Select Windows 7 SP1 and any other updates and get them installed.

The update is around 500 MB++ so it's gonna take a while before it's done. That's it!

c:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/TuneUp Software/TuneUp Utilities 2010/

After making of a copy the language folder, uninstall TuneUp Utilities 2010 (English version).

2. Download TuneUp Utilities 2010 (German), get it installed and enter the product key that you got from your email.
3. Replace the folder "de-de" with the "en-US" folder.
4. Type in "regedit" in the search box in the start menu and click regedit.exe. Locate the registry key value at the following location

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TuneUp\Utilities\9.0

and select "UlLanguage". Change "de-de" to "en-US"

5. Restart your computer and your TuneUp Utilities 2010 should be in English.
