Mount an ISO image on Windows 7 and Vista easily with Virtual CloneDrive

ISO image file is one of the best way to keep your data from corrupted. Problem is it needs to be burned onto a DVD or CD before the content can be extracted. Of course with built-in functions in Windows 7 and Windows Vista, you can burn the ISO file onto a DVD on the fly but why we need to go the hassle with physical process while extracting data from ISO image file can be done virtually.

Jailbreak Apple TV 2G iOS 4.2.1 Using Seas0nPass for Mac OS X [How to]

We have covered previously about a group of hackers known as FireCore who has successfully jailbroken Apple TV 2 running iOS 4.2.1 with a new jailbreak tool called Seas0nPass (Mac users).

Required things

1. Seas0nPass
2. Latest version of iTunes
3. A micro USB cable

How to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 Apple TV 2 using Seas0nPass

Step 1: Launch Seas0nPass after unzipping the "Seas0nPass.zip" file.

Step 2: Select 'Create IPSW' if your AppleTV is not yet jailbroken. (if you already did just skip this section and go to the bottom of this article to the 'tethered boot' section).

Step 3: In order to create a custom 'jailbroken' software file the latest AppleTV software will be downloaded and used.

Step 4: Connect your AppleTV when prompted using a micro-USB cable (leave power disconnected), and hold both the "MENU" and "PLAY/PAUSE" buttons for 7 seven seconds.

Step 5: iTunes will automatically open and initiate the restore process.

Step 6: iTunes will confirm the restore when complete - your AppleTV is now jailbroken. Please proceed to the 'tethered boot' section below.

Using Seas0nPass for a 'tethered boot'

Some AppleTV software versions require a tethered boot. This means the AppleTV must be connected to a computer for a brief moment during startup.

Note: The AppleTV MUST be disconnected from the computer (for at least a brief moment) after restoring in iTunes for the tethered boot process below to work properly.

Step 1: Open Seas0nPass and select the 'Boot Tethered' option.

Step 2: When prompted, connect the AppleTV to your computer via USB. Wait for the rapid flashing light then connect the power. Once both are connected hold both the 'MENU' and 'PLAY/PAUSE' buttons for 7 seven seconds.

Step 3: Seas0n Pass will complete the tethered boot automatically. Once complete, remove the USB cable and connect the HDMI cable.

Seas0nPass: Jailbreak Apple TV 2 with custom iOS 4.2.1 firmware

You must be familiar with the iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad jailbreak but jailbreaking Apple TV is quite a new thing. Seas0nPass is a similar counterpart to PwnageTool for iPhone except it works on Apple TV 2. This tool which is developed by Firecore group allows you to create custom firmware for iOS 4.2.1 AppleTV 2 only.

It is important to remember that this is a tethered jailbreak, so you need to connect the AppleTV to a computer for a brief moment during startup. Apart from that you need to have microUSB cable to complete jailbreak. This done by restoring custom firmware created using Seas0nPass jailbreak tool.
