Sony unveils next PSP Codenamed NGP: Featuring quad core Cortex Processor & GPU

Today, Sony unveiled its next generation (PSP) PlayStation Portable gaming device which is codenamed NGP. The next generation PSP features 5 inches OLED touch screen (960×544 pixel), dual analog sticks, multiple touch pads and powerful processing units; a quad-core SGX543 GPU and quad-core Cortex A9 processor. The next generation PSP will be compatible with PlayStation Suite and not to mention it will be backwards-compatible with all downloadable PSP games.

It is currently being called "Next Generation Portable" with similarity of user interface to the iPhone but with controllable via the first ever dual analog control sticks. The device revolves around 5 concepts:

  • Revolutionary User Interface
  • Location-based Entertainment
  • Social Connectivity
  • Virtual (augmented) Reality
  • Converging Real

The Next Generation Portable will also have 3G, GPS, WiFi, the same gyroscope / accelerometer motion sensing, a rear-mounted touchpad, an electronic compass, and cameras on both the back and front. Gmail introduces desktop notification for chat messages and email

A new HTML 5 powered desktop notification for chat messages and email was officially introduced by Gmail. In order to enjoy the full benefits of it, you need to switch your browser to Google Chrome to use this notification. By using Google Chrome, it allows Gmail to display popup notifications through a nice HTML 5 on your desktop when you have an email or new chat messages.

The introduction of desktop notification would definitely be a great news for Google chrome users because they are no longer need to go to the Gmail account window to check whether they got new messages. On top of that you won't miss your important chat conversations too because new chat message will appear in the pop-up window even if your Gmail window is not opened. It is worth to note that at this time, Gmail Desktop Notification doesn't work in other popular browsers like IE, Firefox and Safari.
