Google Voice will support mobile number porting for $20 soon Posted: 22 Jan 2011 11:59 PM PST Google Voice has a huge base fans - thanks to awesome features like managing multiple phones and making screening calls - but there is 1 downside though. Google Voice did not allow its user to port their existing phone numbers over. So in order to enjoy the full benefits of Google Voice you will need a new phone number which creates frustration to most Google Voice users. However, Google seemed to listen to the people and recently has allowed number porting for Google Voice. Even though this is still beta where only some users to be able to enjoy this new feature, we can be sure that this feature will roll out to everyone soon. Here's what Google said about this:
The feature was first noticed by Engadget and in order to successfully to do that you are required to pay $20. You can see screenshots of the process below. Before jumping on the bandwagon, you should check with your current carrier agreement so will know how much do you need to pay for early termination. If you are planning to buy new Verizon iPhone 4, you may want to consider registering it under new number so that you can port your existing phone number to Google Voice. Currently we can receive and make call right from Gmail account and as time goes by, we probably see calls that can be made from Google TV, tablet computer or any devices that are connected to the internet. Time will tell. [via] |

Native 3D Maps introduced in iOS 4.3 Beta 2 Posted: 22 Jan 2011 07:36 PM PST A new improvement has been spotted on the recently released iOS 4.3 beta 2 as you can see in the picture below. It seems that the new iOS 4.3 Beta 2 supports 3D maps on its native maps application. Watching 3D maps is always an amazing addition on iPhone and this would definitely take navigation using maps to the next level. Hopefully it's not a fake one. |
